Snowsport movies you have to see this season!

TGR – Tightloose
 
TGR (Teton Gravity Research) are releasing Tight Loose to celebrate 21 years of creating ski films. The group have been shredding across the world and have been pushing the limits for many years. The whole film’s message is about being prepared to be out of control. From India to Alaska the group pull off unspeakable tricks and drops in some of the most breathtaking backdrops!
 
Shades of Winter – Between
 
On the back of Sandra Lahnsteiner’s previous films Shades of Winter and Pure comes the cinematic adventure Between. The film is female centric and focuses on the beauty of skiing around the world. It is filled to the brim with top female skiers like Olympic Gold medal-winning alpine skier Julia Mancuso and World freeride champion Nadine Wallner. Between also features an inspirational tribute to Matilda Rapaport who tragically died earlier this year.
 

Salomon TV - Guilt trip
 
Salomon TV released a ski movie this year on YouTube that follows glaciologist Alan Hubbard and riders Chris Rubens, Kalen Thorien, Simon Thomson and Pierre Muller to reach Greenland’s second highest peak. The movie is not your typical ski film and actually shows the extent of global warming in the area. The expedition is put into question when they discover their aircraft is unable to reach the destination.
 

Travis Rice – The Fourth Phase
 
Snowboard legend Travis Rice plans a 16,000-mile trip to follow the hydrological cycle around the north Pacific. Expect epic scenery and backcountry rides that will make your jaw drop. If you loved Art of Flight then you’ll definitely enjoy The Fourth Phase!
 

Good Company – Vice Versa
The Good Company crew set off across the globe to showcase world class urban, park and backcountry skiing. Expect their trademark fun styled tricks and banter that makes them one of the most enjoyable groups to watch. The incredible Tom Wallisch also features!
 
Level 1 – Pleasure
 
An all-star cast of freeride skiers attempt quirky urban features mixed with big backcountry lines. The work that goes into each shot is clearly shown and the dedication to achieve certain tricks is immense. This film will bring smiles to freestyle riders everywhere!
 

Field Productions - Supervention 2
 
Subtitles at the ready! Supervention follows some of Norway’s best snowsport talent on their journeys through life. The film explores the willpower and motivation of each athlete in their own disciplines. Young freestylers attempt some huge feature whilst World Cup Alpine legend Axel Lund Svindal tries to come back from injury. You get an insight into the back-stories and the risk each skier takes when riding the mountain.
 
Ski the Kingdom – God save the scene
 
Check out our interview with director Jack Thompkins! The film follows the STK crew around the UK hitting all sorts of dryslopes and domes. It celebrates the close-knit freestyle community within Britain and promotes the fun factor of skiing. There’s also a very special appearance from one of Britain’s top freestyle skiers!
